The Arch inside links to the Mountain Island Arch. This one is much easier to access but harder to find. The second is found in a small lump in the ground east of the central lagoon. It can be found on a small ledge just above the large lake in the middle. The Alien Arch Cache can be found in a large cave near the centre of the Island. The Island is a good source of edible plants, namely the Lantern Tree, Marblemelon, and Chinese Potato, which are exclusive to the Island and can be found in various abandoned growbeds. It can be accessed from the main beach or via the underwater entrance at its center. The Floating Island is fully explorable and boasts a wide variety of colorful, terrestrial flora that covers most of the Island's surface. Two smaller observatories doubling as small farms, and a larger farm on the other side of the Island. There, they constructed a main base, which has been partially covered by a mudslide. The Floating Island was also the residence of the Degasi Survivors for a small while.

An Abandoned PDA is positioned right beneath the signal, laying on the sand. Keen left behind a signal for the rendezvous point at Lifepod 19. The Floating Island was the rendezvous point for survivors of the Aurora, However, only two made it: Second Officer Keen, and CTO Yu. The climate is tropical, with a great amount of vegetation and a surface temperature that peaks just below 41☌ and never lower than 20☌. It is a large landmass completely supported by Ancient Floaters located underneath the Island. It seemed like it was worth posting this information here so that more people might find out about them. The Floating Island is a unique island biome in Subnautica. It makes me happy seeing that there are those out there already trying to improve the game. It's really annoying that you only find out you need more support by building something that goes over the top - and then probably not having the lithium or titanium to add that support because you just used your titanium to build something! That would be another one that I would consider an actual bug fix for the UI.Ĭheck them out.
#SUBNAUTICA MODS NEXUS MOD#
I only wish there was a mod that would show the structure points remaining in a base when you are building things. There are quite a few others too, but these in my opinion are must-haves. It keeps track of where you have been, for those (like me) who have no sense of direction, and even after multiple playthroughs still go in circles trying to find the wrecks. There is a real map mod connected to the PDA, that includes places like the Lost River and lava zones. Now one can make a trail of brain coral pots inside caves - or an outdoor garden that can use more then just the external grow bed. It makes it much easier to access even when docking the seamoth.Īnother is making plant pots that work underwater - and on the surface for outside air plants. There is one that puts a console in regular moon pools that works just like the one inside the Cyclops for accessing storage and upgrades - something that has been desperately needed because neither is accessible when docking a prawn.

No more being forced to bash holes in my own base just to turn off the lights! This is awesome for those who like to build in places with outside light like the blood kelp, or lava zone - or simply like turning off the lights at night to see the glow of the kelp forest.
#SUBNAUTICA MODS NEXUS UPDATE#
The first one I picked was a craftable base light switch - something I have been wanting and asking for since the base update was first released many moons ago. There have been some fine new mods released for Subnautica on the Nexus site.
